‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Leads a Sleepy Valentine’s Day Weekend Box Office (The MovieBabble Podcast Ep. 7)

Alita: Battle Angel

February’s dismal start continues through Valentine’s Day weekend. Alita: Battle Angel, Happy Death Day 2U, and Isn’t it Romantic all struggle to earn back their budgets. The Lego Movie 2 continues to underperform its predecessor, and CatVideoFest 2019 does its best. Considering this weekend last year marked the arrival of Black Panther, 2019 is quite the box office downturn.

Marking the lowest President’s Day weekend in fifteen years, this week’s results are a doozy. What films scored some Valentine’s Day date nights? What films continue to show some legs? Who will be the next Batman? These questions and more are answered by Nick and I on this episode of the MovieBabble Podcast.

Also, exciting details about the DCEU’s next potential spinoff!
