If you’re like me, chances are that Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs still isn’t playing in a theater near you. Lucky individuals in Los Angeles and New York had the chance to see the film this past weekend, but the rest of us are stuck waiting — building anticipation until the day it releases in our areas finally arrives.
Regardless, music is an important storytelling element in the films of Wes Anderson — it’s usual quirkiness is one of his most prominent calling cards as an auteur. His films are unusual for their heavy use of pop, rather than (or in combination with) orchestral compositions.
To celebrate the release of Isle of Dogs (or to soften the ever-growing frustration of being unable to see it), here’s a playlist of some great Andersonian-pop songs as created by Reel Opinions:

Ah, l happened to see a trailer for this film …. once. Is there even a tenative date anywhere for its release on a widespread basis?
I’m sure Fox Searchlight has a plan of which cities it goes to next but they’re mostly relying on good word of mouth to push out into more theaters
I’ll have to keep an eye out for it.
Oh, that’s hilarious. I was just complaining about the wait in my piece, too. Ha ha.
Lol!
Really looking forward to this movie, based on the trailers I’ve seen, Anderson’s previous movies, and the list of actors in it. You just added another great element. Thanks! Cheers
Glad to help! Just doing my job 😁
