After an astronaut returns from her lunar mission to find that the public lost all interest in the moon, the stories of the astronaut, a film director, and a bear intersect.
Nick Kush: Whether it’s the next Marvel movie or, in the case of The Moon’s Not That Great, the moon itself, the hype cycle is very real. We wind ourselves up in anticipation for something coming down the pipe to the point where we have near-impossible expectations for it; we’re setting up whatever “it” is for a pre-ordained failure. Mathieu Libman takes this idea to a lovably goofy extreme in this short with fun animation and charm. Afterward, you might want to stop and smell the roses for a change. Or, at the very least, you’ll have a nice laugh thanks to a unicycling bear.
