Ten Must-See Modern Cult Horror Films [Video]

Modern Cult Horror Films

The modern moviegoing experienced has largely been distilled to two kinds of movies: IP-driven blockbusters and micro-budgeted horror films. I’m simplifying, of course, but most of the profitable movies of the last few years fall into either of these two camps. Each provide an unparalleled communal watching experience that other genres simply can’t replicate. It’s one of the reasons we’ve seen a boom of cult horror films in the last few years as well as a glut of superhero extravaganzas.

One could even make the argument that horror is in better shape now than ever before. This success creates a trickle-down effect, allowing filmmakers to make some truly singular pieces of horror that find their own audiences over time.
