‘Freeze Frame’ by Soetkin Verstegen

Identical figures perform the hopeless task of preserving blocks of ice.

Nick Kush: I love little oddballs such as Freeze Frame, wherein it appears the creator set out to try something just to see what the hell would happen. In this case, the end result is a fascinatingly icy (I’m so sorry) and eerie stop-motion short about preservation and memory. The juxtaposition between the aimless tasks performed by the indistinguishable workers with various iced skeletons nears all-out dejection, and yet it’s undeniably captivating all the same.
