This weekend saw the release of the highly anticipated, James-Gunn-directed film The Suicide Squad. Despite an arguably soft opening at the box office amid concerns of the Delta variant, the film has proven to be a streaming hit on HBO Max. Between Zack Snyder’s Justice League in March, and now The Suicide Squad, DC has decidedly made this year the year of the “do-over” and audiences are all the better for it.
