Spider-Man: Far From Home has eclipsed $800 million worldwide to become one of Spidey’s biggest successes at the movies. The Wall Crawler is showing minimal signs of slowing down against new competition. Toy Story 4 also manages to survive with another small drop from last weekend. Meanwhile, the weekend openers aren’t faring as well. While not a commercial failure, Crawl fails to open to highly successful numbers. Stuber, on the other hand, flounders just a bit more. However, Yesterday continues to prove that smaller films can still have summer success.
With Disney and Jon Favreau’s The Lion King opening next week, the final stretch of the summer box office is nearly upon us. Will The Lion King be a billion dollar hit? Will Hobbs and Shaw close out the summer with a bang?
These questions and more are answered on this weekend’s episode of The MovieBabble Podcast.
