When it comes to dunking on things that seem really, really stupid, the internet is just about undefeated. The weekend brought with it an exception to that rule: Sonic the Hedgehog. The big-screen adaptation of the popular video game went back to the drawing board after every meme page was absolutely ruthless to the film’s original design for the popular character and came out as the big winner by grossing over $57 million.
Instead, it appears that all the memes will be going towards Fantasy Island from here on out. The horror film sits below 10% on Rotten Tomatoes and has been panned by just about everyone as they leave their screenings confused and befuddled.
We discuss all this and more on this week’s episode of The MovieBabble Podcast!
