Top 10 Superhero Origin Story Movies [Video]

Superhero movies love a good origin story. If you ask me, we’ve seen too many origin story movies at this point. Do I really need to see another film where a being of some kind learns of their powers only to hastily fight an underdeveloped baddie in the third act in a wave of underwhelming CGI? Well…I think that cynical question answers itself.

But don’t get me wrong, there have been some great ones over the years. One of them is even in the mix of some of my personal favorite movies. And no, it’s not Steel…but I do love that movie for the catastrophe that it is!

These types of stories are the vessels in which some of our favorites characters come to life. Whether it’s through biological manipulation or the final leg of some old prophecy, these characters learn to become beacons of hope and justice while forever leading the charge in blockbuster filmmaking.

In short, origin stories have been around for a while, and they’re certainly not going away anytime soon.
